About the Role:
ACT Pathology is a division of Canberra Health Services, with laboratories located at both Canberra Hospital and North Canberra Hospital, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. Collection Centres are also located across seven other sites.
ACT Pathology provides diagnostic and consultative services to medical specialists, general practitioners and their patients, both in hospital and throughout the community.
Customer Services, ACT Pathology, is primarily the liaison between patients, clinicians and the laboratory. The team is responsible for the collection of pathology samples from patients within Canberra Hospital, North Canberra Hospital and National Capital Private Hospital, as well as outpatient Collection Centres within the community. Customer Services also provides a home collection service for patients who are too frail to attend an outpatient collection room.
Under the direction of the Customer Services Manager and the Pathology Collections Manager, you will be required to perform collection procedures across all sites, undertake reception duties, complete data entry, maintain stock and act as a liaison between patients and clinicians.
Customer Services operates Monday through to Sunday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm, including public holidays.
This is an opportunity to join ACT Pathology and contribute to a service that plays an important role in supporting patients, clinicians and the broader community through the delivery of essential pathology services.
