Responsibilities
Serve as the technical lead for complex public sector opportunities, designing and validating secure cloud solutions. Coordinate across cross-functional teams to operationalize secure cloud enclaves and align architecture decisions with customer objectives.
Requirements
Requires at least 10 years of experience in solution architecture or technical consulting within the software industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, M365, and Copilot is essential, with a strong preference for experience in regulated environments like FedRAMP or DoD.
Full job description
Overview
As a Solution Architect on our presales team, you will serve as the technical overlay for our most complex public sector opportunities. You will partner closely with Sales, Delivery, Product, and Engineering to design, present, and validate solutions that address customer objectives across their Microsoft initiatives, while also helping architect and operationalize our secure cloud enclaves (including FedRAMP High, DoD IL5, and IL6).
This role blends Solution Architecture with elements of Technical Program Management. You will help drive architecture decisions, align cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure we can consistently deliver secure, scalable solutions in environments where compliance, identity, segmentation, and partner ecosystem constraints materially shape what is possible.
Responsibilities
Engage with customers, prospects, and channel partners to understand business needs and propose solutions that leverage AvePoint’s offerings.
Act as the technical overlay for complex, high-risk, non-standard opportunities, including scenarios that challenge or exceed current solution patterns. Drive alignment on “the right way to solve” and document repeatable approaches.
Assist in the architecture and technical program management of our secure cloud enclaves, including FedRAMP High, IL5, and IL6 environments.
Support technical planning across identity and access, segmentation/multi-tenancy, connectivity, and secure operational requirements.
Coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders to remove blockers and maintain delivery momentum.
Create and deliver compelling presentations, demos, and proposals that articulate the value, security posture, and operational outcomes of our solutions.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to customers and internal teams on best practices for architecture, design, and implementation, including secure-by-design guidance appropriate for regulated environments.
Collaborate with Sales, Delivery, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination of sales activities and deliverables through the full sales cycle.
Stay current on trends in AI, Microsoft, Google and secure cloud architecture. Share insights and field feedback with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap and enablement.
Support marketing initiatives and events (remote or in-person) that drive pipeline creation and customer growth opportunities.
Partner with Sales Enablement to ensure teams can hold consistent, accurate technical and security conversations that improve buyer confidence and influence outcomes.
Actively own and participate in speaking events across Federal and SLED events.
Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience in a solution architect, technical consultant, or similar role in the software industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 platforms and services.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, as required by the business.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (or eligibility to do so).
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft ecosystem technologies (e.g., Microsoft 365, identity concepts, and security fundamentals).
Demonstrated strength translating highly technical topics for mixed audiences, including technical buyers and executive stakeholders.
Experience operating in regulated environments (FedRAMP, DoD, or adjacent compliance/security frameworks) is strongly preferred.
Comfortable operating as an overlay: diagnosing ambiguous requirements, driving architecture clarity, and creating reusable patterns that scale across the field.
The Salary Range for this role is $190,000 - $220,000. At AvePoint, we strive to offer competitive, fair, and equitable total rewards. The listed salary range represents a good faith estimate, with final offers based on location, experience, skills, and qualifications. The listed range reflects base salary only; our total rewards include base salary, comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, unlimited PTO), and depending on the role, bonuses, commissions, or equity (RSUs). We welcome compensation discussions—apply even if your expectations fall outside the range.
Any personal data you share with us during the application process will be processed strictly in compliance with applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Notice.
