Full job description
Fixed Term Full-Time until 31st December 2027
You excel at connecting the dots as a problem solver, ensuring the seamless delivery of reliable services from beginning to end.
Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.
In this role, you'll:
Design, build and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure that supports critical operational and enterprise systems. Your work will focus on keeping environments secure, resilient and scalable, while continuously looking for ways to improve performance, reliability and cost efficiency. You’ll automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across environments. Monitoring cloud services, responding to incidents and contributing to problem resolution will be part of your day‑to‑day work, helping ensure services remain available when they’re needed most. You’ll collaborate closely with application, security and operations teams, working together to deliver integrated cloud solutions that support real‑world transport operations.
For more information on this position and business unit, view the role description and information pack.
About you
You bring solid experience working in enterprise Azure environments and enjoy building cloud infrastructure that’s reliable, secure and well‑designed. You’re comfortable automating infrastructure, using scripting and modern tooling to improve efficiency and consistency. Security, resilience and performance are priorities for you, and you take a thoughtful approach to balancing operational stability with ongoing improvement. You communicate well and enjoy working with different teams, helping translate cloud and infrastructure concepts into practical outcomes. Organised and proactive, you’re comfortable handling incidents, managing competing demands and supporting continuous improvement. With relevant tertiary qualifications, Azure certification or equivalent hands‑on experience, you’re motivated by building cloud platforms that support essential services at scale.
