Summary:
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing custodial staff and ensuring that facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This role includes supervising daily cleaning operations, training employees, maintaining supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect facilities regularly to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met
Train new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols
Monitor staff performance
Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
Respond to special cleaning requests and emergency situations
Coordinate with management regarding maintenance issues or improvements
Lead by example
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2–5 years of custodial or janitorial experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management
Basic computer skills for scheduling and reporting
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed indoors with some potential risks to safety and health hazards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds, push/pull 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
Must be able to work around food and cleaning products
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:
DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:
As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
