Supports the Executive Director in operating the state office and managing SkillsUSA Texas functions within an assigned district. Responsible for planning district contests, building membership through partnerships with educators, and providing leadership to chapter advisors.

Requires a minimum of five years of experience in the education field, with a preference for backgrounds in CTE or CTSOs. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills and a proven ability to foster productive relationships with critical stakeholders.
The District Coordinator is a seasonal, part-time employee responsible for assisting the Regional Manager in coordinating district-level SkillsUSA Texas activities, communications, and events. This position provides operational support to advisors, volunteers, judges, and district leadership while ensuring assigned tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
The District Coordinator serves as the primary event logistics coordinator within the district but is not responsible for regional planning, financial approvals, strategic chapter development, personnel supervision, or organizational decision-making. Those responsibilities remain with the Regional Manager. The position requires flexibility during peak conference seasons, occasional evenings and weekends, and the ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with the Regional Manager.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in the education field. Prior SkillsUSA work history, experience in career and technical education (CTE) classroom and career and technical student organizations (CTSOs) is a plus. The successful applicant must have demonstrated accomplishment with critical stakeholders in fostering productive relationships that have translated into program acceptance and implementation.
This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the organization, alumni, key stakeholders, and the public. This includes strong written and oral communication, planning, and organizational skills. Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work independently combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional goals. Proven high professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information, plus the ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously, with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines, are required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
District Operations
Coordinate district contest logistics under the direction of the Regional Manager.
Maintain district calendars and event timelines.
Monitor deadlines
Assist advisors with contest questions using approved SkillsUSA Texas resources.
Communicate district updates provided by the Regional Manager.
Maintain district supply inventory.
Coordinate volunteers and judges using approved procedures.
Assist with onsite conference operations.
Ensure contest materials are prepared and distributed.
Maintain district files and documentation.
Administrative Responsibilities
Submit purchase requests before expenditures.
Submit reimbursement requests within required timelines.
Maintain accurate district records.
Submit required reports by deadlines.
Participate in required staff meetings.
Complete annual CMS training as directed.
Attend annual coordinator training.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Maximum 10 hours worked weekly unless approved otherwise.
Evening and weekend work required during conference season.
Travel required within assigned district.
Reliable internet access required.
Reliable transportation required.
Cell phone required.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds during conference setup.
Other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or Executive Director.
