Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the company’s Food Safety and Quality Management System to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and certification requirements. The role drives continuous improvement in product quality, food safety, and operational processes across all departments.

Responsibilities

Quality & Food Safety Leadership

• Lead and manage the QA Department to ensure effective daily operations and achievement of food safety and quality objectives
• Act as Food Safety Team Leader and ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 standards
• Ensure timely escalation and resolution of all food safety and quality non-conformities
• Drive food safety culture across all functional departments

Quality Systems & Compliance

• Oversee implementation and maintenance of quality management systems and certification requirements (e.g. FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, GFSI standards)
• Lead internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits and ensure audit readiness at all times
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and customer requirements

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Prepare and present monthly QA reports including Complaint Logs, HACCP performance, GMP audit results, and demerit point records
• Analyse quality trends and non-conformance data to identify root causes and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Provide management insights and recommendations based on quality data

Continuous Improvement & Cost Control

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in product quality, processes, and food safety systems
• Manage laboratory testing plans based on risk and product sensitivity to optimise cost and budget control
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects and ensure timely completion

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Production, Warehouse, Procurement, and R&D teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and process controls
• Develop and review SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards with relevant stakeholders

Team Management & Development

• Lead, coach, and develop QA team members to build technical competency and performance capability
• Assign work, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of departmental objectives

Project Management

• Lead or support QA-related projects, system improvements, and training programs as assigned
• Ensure successful execution within agreed timelines

Education

Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry with strong knowledge of food safety and manufacturing processes

Skills

Other Requirements

• Proven experience in leading ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 implementation or equivalent food safety systems
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to operational emergencies, including after-hours when required
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
