Job Description
What You'll Do as a Chef De Cuisine:
As a Chef de Cuisine a Westgate Resorts you Supervise and actively participates in all kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in accordance with established standards and recipes. Responsible for producing high-quality food products that consistently exceed guest expectations while maintaining operational efficiency, food safety, and cost controls.
Assign, direct, train, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient daily operations and proper preparation of menu items.
Ensure proper receiving, storage, temperature control, and rotation of food products in compliance with food safety standards.
Maintain food quality, consistency, portion control, and presentation standards.
Monitor and control food and labor costs through effective scheduling, inventory management, requisitioning, and purchasing practices.
Develop and maintain recipes, inventory records, and supply orders as needed.
Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and health department regulations.
Deliver exceptional guest service by maintaining high culinary standards and responding to guest needs.
Coordinate equipment maintenance needs with the Executive Chef and Engineering Department.
Cultivate a positive, productive work environment through leadership, coaching, training, and employee development.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
10 years of culinary management experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or resort environment.
Food Handlers Certification required within 30 days of Hire, must be maintained on a current/valid status.
Culinary degree from an accredited institution preferred.
High school diploma or general education degree GED.
The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Follow instructions without close supervision.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Required to pass a background screen, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.
