Looking for a motivated and dependable Dish Prep Cook to join us in a supportive, team-oriented environment! The Dish Prep Cook is responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining the kitchen’s efficiency. You will support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, washing dishes, and organizing the kitchen to ensure that the cooking process runs smoothly and efficiently.

This is currently a limited duration position with flexible scheduling and no late nights – perfect for someone who wants work-life balance.

Qualifications:

  • Kitchen or food prep experience; commercial kitchen or camp-setting preferred
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Willing to work mornings and events as needed
  • ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain), preferred

Requirements

Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and sauces under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.

Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and organized to maintain kitchen efficiency.

Clean, sanitize, and organize kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment.

Operate dishwashing equipment, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness.

Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including workstations, counters, and floors.

Assist in organizing the kitchen and prep areas to keep everything easily accessible.

Help stock ingredients, sauces, and supplies to keep the kitchen well-stocked for daily use.

Ensure all health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen at all times.

Support the team during food service by quickly providing prepared ingredients or helping with other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but not required (training will be provided).

Knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and organization skills.

Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as boxes of ingredients and kitchen supplies.

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in hot kitchen environments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must have the ability to walk unaided up and down hills, lift and move items up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop and reach above their head. This position demands frequent exposure to the weather. Must be able to work around heat, noise, dust, odors, cleaning agents, etc. Must possess the use of long term and short-term memory.

In 1912, the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women founded the Pi Beta Phi Settlement School in Gatlinburg, TN as a service project to commemorate its 50th anniversary. Today, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is a nationally renowned center of contemporary arts and crafts education. Workshops are offered for one and two weeks in the spring and summer, and one-week and weekends in the fall. Areas of study include: ceramics, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, drawing, photography, warm glass, woodturning, woodworking, sculpture, and book and paper arts. The public is welcome year-round to visit the school’s five galleries, resource center and book and supply store. Artist residencies, assistantships, work-study, scholarships, community outreach, conferences and music programs contribute to Arrowmont’s mission of “enriching lives through art.” Arrowmont’s historic 14 acre campus is a hidden treasure in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. Quaint and intimate spaces define Arrowmont’s charm. With art around every corner, it isn’t hard to find inspiration and creativity, making it the perfect location for a board, business or staff retreat, meeting, special event or large family gathering.
