Pay Range: $18.66 - $19.26 an hour; depending upon experience. Bi-lingual individuals in Spanish, German, and Korean are eligible for a $1 per hour increase.

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare meals and support daily kitchen operations in alignment with organizational standards, nutritional guidelines, and food safety regulations. This includes preparation of meals for Home Delivered Meals, Meals on Wheels, Connections Café, visitors, staff, and others. The Cook of Nutrition Services ensures consistency, cost‑effectiveness, and quality while following all requirements of Title III‑C of the Older Americans Act and Volume 10 of the Older Coloradoans Act.
Silver Key is a volunteer‑centric organization. This role interacts regularly with volunteers; the Cook is responsible for showing appreciation for their service and offering guidance as needed.
Duties are performed in various settings, including the kitchen and desk areas. Noise levels are moderate due to kitchen equipment and volunteer traffic.

In addition, we have Silver Key Friends Thrift Store with a Home Medical Equipment Department. Silver Key has 60 paid staff and more than 600 volunteers who provide quality services to the 60+ population of the greater Colorado Springs area. Volunteers are always needed to deliver Home Delivered Meals including Meals on Wheels, drive clients for Reserve & Ride, provide retail assistance, or help in the food pantry.
