The Principal NERC Compliance Specialist will manage Transmission Operations compliance with NERC Operating and Planning standards that apply to LIPA's NERC functional registrations, for which Transmission Operations is responsible. This includes review of updated and new standards for applicability. Evaluation of these standards to determine necessary changes to Transmission Operations policies and procedures to comply. Develop and update reliability standard audit worksheets (RSAW) for NERC audits, act as subject matter expert (SME) where applicable. Develop and manage internal controls to ensure compliance and compliance related tasks are performed. Represent LIPA on various NYISO working groups. Coordinate with other SME's as necessary if Transmission Operations input is needed on RSAWs. Review and respond if necessary to NERC Alerts. Perform various compliance related notifications, (Department of Energy, NERC, NPCC).
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field with 7 years relevant work experience, or candidates without a degree must have 10 years of relevant work experience.
Relevant work experience should include a combination of NERC reliability and Transmission control center experience or equivalent.
