The Mechanical Designer II is responsible for creating and modifying 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor for fabrication and production. They will oversee assigned projects from start to finish while ensuring adherence to company CAD standards and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Candidates must possess a Technical Diploma in Mechanical CAD Drafting or an Associate Degree in Mechanical Design Technology. A minimum of 3 years of experience with Inventor and 1 year of Vault software is required.

The MechanicalDesigner II is responsible for the creation and modification of 3D models of various parts and assemblies for fabrication and production, as well as detailed drawings utilizing the Autodesk Inventor software platform. Must create detailed models using specific design criteria and parts, including accurate 3rd party manufactured components. Responsible for communicating with the team and/or customer throughout the design process to ensure the accuracy and quality of each task, as well as adherence to company CAD standards. Responsible for taking the lead and overseeing assigned projects/tasks with minimal assistance from immediate supervisor.
The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and electrical equipment cut sheets, knowledge of commercial/industrial construction trades, knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) is preferred. Experience working/communicating with external fabricators in the creation of fabricated/welded parts and assemblies. Has knowledge of the procedures and workflows within the Vault software. Has basic knowledge of iLogic coding along with basic knowledge of Visual Basic programming.
Education: Technical Diploma in Mechanical CAD Drafting or Associate Degree in Mechanical Design Technology
Experience: 3 years of Inventor and 1 year of Vault. 3 years of product development experience preferred.
Travel: 5-10%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Overtime may be required. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
