Responsibilities:
Utilize advanced modeling, multi-physics simulation, and optimization techniques to design high-performance actuators, maximizing torque density, efficiency, and dynamic response while minimizing thermal and structural bottlenecks.
Develop structural and kinematic systems that define the physical capabilities of advanced mobile robots, specifically focusing on the rapid development of prototype mechanisms.
Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (ASME Y14.5), ensuring designs meet the performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards required for precision robotics hardware.
Architect, select, and integrate drivetrain systems and apply deep expertise in electromagnetic motor architecture, precision gear design, bearing arrangements and lubrication methods to optimize torque density, backlash, and efficiency.
Apply advanced DFMA principles and collaborate with manufacturing partners and vendors to select optimal processes.
