The Project Engineer manages the technical development and design of automotive components, establishing program specifications and directing technical activities. They are responsible for tool layout, prototype builds, and ensuring all products meet customer requirements from prototype through production.
Requires a B.S. in engineering with 2 years of manufacturing experience, or 7 years of progressive manufacturing experience with 2 years in engineering. Candidates must possess strong analytical decision-making skills and meet a minimum Wonderlic Select Assessment score.
JOB TITLE: Project Engineer FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Technical Manager, Engineering
The Project Engineer is responsible for technical work involving engineering, development and design of components involved in a product. Establishes program specifications and requirements. Directs the technical activities of the Designer, Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineer assigned to the program.
Under general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks:
B.S. degree in engineering and 2 years manufacturing (automotive related preferred) experience or some college instruction (preferably in an engineering curriculum) and 7 years progressive manufacturing experience including 2 years in engineering.
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
This position typically does require up to 20% travel.
