Location: San Diego, CA Job Type: Full-Time Work Setting: In-Person (School-Based) Schedule: 4 hours per month Compensation: $57.00 - $77.00 per hour
Position Overview Our client is seeking a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for a 4-hour-per-month in-person school-based position in San Diego, CA.
In this role, you will provide specialized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, helping ensure they have equal access to learning and opportunities to succeed academically.
Responsibilities
Conduct assessments to identify students' educational and communication needs.
Develop and support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide direct services and consultation to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Recommend appropriate accommodations and assistive technology to support student success.
Monitor and document student progress toward established goals.
Collaborate with families and related service providers to support student development.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all applicable state and federal requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
Valid California DHH Teaching Credential or appropriate state certification.
Minimum one (1) year of experience.
Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
Knowledge of IEP development and educational best practices.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred but not required, depending on district needs.
