The Department of Languages and Cross-Cultural Studies at Augsburg University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach one, two, or all of the following sections of beginning Spanish:
All three courses run in Fall 2026 (9/2/2026 – 12/18/2026).
In addition to teaching the class and grading student work, instructors are expected to respond to student questions through email, hold regularly scheduled office hours, reach out to students with course progress information, and communicate regularly with the course coordinator. Instructor will be required to use Panorama (VHL) and the VHL Supersite. Familiarity with Moodle preferred. Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours/week for 16 weeks.
The successful candidate will possess both a high level of intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation.
The collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284, covers adjunct teaching at Augsburg University.

Course refers to a typical 4-credit undergraduate or 3-credit graduate course that has met minimum enrollment requirements.
Please note that due to employment law and payroll regulations, we can only employ adjunct faculty who reside in and work from Minnesota or Wisconsin. This restriction also applies to online courses.

MA in a relevant field plus significant experience teaching Spanish, preferably at the college level. Ph.D. preferred.

The Minnesota Urban Debate League (MNUDL) is a program of Augsburg University which provides resources and programming to support competitive academic debate in Twin Cities high schools and middle schools. The mission of MNUDL is to empower students through competitive academic debate to become engaged learners, critical thinkers, and active global citizens who are effective advocates for themselves and their communities.
