Implement a comprehensive school counseling program focusing on college, career, and personal development for high school students. Collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators to monitor student performance and provide responsive interventions.
Requires a Master's degree in social work or counseling and a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a 9-12 School Counselor endorsement. Experience with underserved populations and bilingual skills in English/Spanish are preferred.

Acero Schools counselors realize that success is built on relationships - with students, families and colleagues. Our counselors will work with students, administrators, teachers, parents, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote student success, and respond to identified student needs. Also, the High School Counselor will implement a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses college, career, and personal development for all students. In addition, the High School Counselor will be responsible for advising and/or planning with students and families as it relates to college and career goals.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The nature of the work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files, and an ability to communicate and exchange information. Physical demands include the ability to stand, bend, reach high and low, stoop, and walk around the classroom 60% of the day. In addition, candidates must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20 lbs. for short periods of time, and walk up and down stairs several times a day.
Majority of work is performed in a general school environment. The role may require participation and attendance at organization-sponsored events and meetings, in accordance with the terms in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) and Acero.
