Why We Need You
The In-Gallery Learning Program Assistant will facilitate a variety of hands-on STEM activities and interpretations in staffed gallery spaces including the Engineering Design Workshop and Hall of Human Life. They will also support the ongoing maintenance of these In-Gallery Learning spaces by preparing materials and ensuring that the spaces are presentable to general museum audiences.
Applicants must have successfully completed a previous Youth Internship at the Museum of Science.
What You’ll Accomplish
Engage visitors: Interact directly with museum visitors for 4+ hours per day facilitating activities and interpretations. Act as a museum ambassador providing excellent customer service.
Support IGL operations: Assist with the setup and breakdown of daily activities. Help maintain gallery teaching spaces, cleaning and preparing activity materials as needed.
Ongoing Training: Train on additional In-Gallery Learning activities in the Engineering Design Workshop, Hall of Human Life, and Charles River Field Station as needed.
