Rental Centre Manager (Location Manager)
Vaughan, Ontario, Canada | Store-Based Role
Lead the team. Run the operation. Deliver the results.
About Us
OnSite Rentals is a growing tool, equipment, and van rental company committed to putting the right equipment in the hands of the people who build, fix, and create — and to building the kind of team that makes that possible every single day. We are a people-first organization, and that means the experience we deliver to our customers starts with the experience we create for our team.
The Role
As the Rental Centre Manager, you are responsible for the overall success of the location. You are accountable for its customer experience, team performance, fleet utilization, safety culture, and financial success. Through strong leadership and relationship-building, you will develop a high-performing team, earn the trust of customers, and drive sustainable business growth.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership and making an impact. Whether you're supporting a customer, coaching a Rental Specialist, analyzing business metrics, or ensuring the safe operation of the centre, you'll play a critical role in the success of the business. If you're ready to lead a team and grow a business, and are energized by leadership and achieving results, then you’ll thrive in this role.
What You’ll Do
Here’s what a typical day involves:
Lead the customer experience
Set the tone for every customer interaction so that your team mirrors the standard of exceptional service you model
Engage, qualify, and guide customers ranging from DIYers to professional contractors toward the best products and solutions for their projects
Build lasting relationships with customers that drive repeat business and consistent revenue
Address customer concerns quickly and effectively, creating positive experiences that strengthen trust and loyalty
Manage rental operations
Ensure the fleet is rental-ready — clean, serviced, and available when customers need it
Oversee reservations, pick-ups, and returns with precision and accountability
Drive efficient and effective equipment turnaround between rentals to maximize utilization and revenue
Coordinate with Mobile Field Technicians on fleet readiness, repair prioritization, and availability
Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date fleet status in the rental management system
Drive financial performance
Lead the achievement of revenue, utilization, and profitability goals for the location
Leverage KPI insights to identify trends, address performance gaps, and drive continuous improvement
Implement strategic pricing initiatives and uncover growth opportunities that enhance both revenue and customer satisfaction
Optimize workflows and resource allocation to improve operational efficiency and manage costs effectively
Lead, develop, and retain your team
Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing Rental Specialists, fostering growth and long-term success
Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to strengthen performance, skills, and employee engagement
Hold team members accountable to performance expectations and company values through consistent leadership and support
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and inclusion where employees can thrive
Identify and develop future leaders, building a strong talent pipeline and ensuring long-term team success
Own safety and compliance
Champion a safety-first culture, leading by example and reinforcing safe work practices across all operations
Ensure equipment meets safety and compliance standards before being released to customers
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free facility through regular inspections and safety walkthroughs
Monitor safety training and certification requirements, ensuring team compliance and readiness
Respond promptly to incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
What We Offer
Competitive base salary plus performance bonus
A clear pathway to multi-store and regional leadership opportunities
Extensive training in rental operations, fleet management, and business systems
Ongoing leadership development, coaching, and career growth opportunities
The opportunity to make a direct impact on customer experience, team performance, and business results
Comprehensive health and dental benefits
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in a customer-facing operational environment, such as tool rental, equipment rental, retail, construction supply, trades, or a related industry
1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience, with a proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate employees
Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively support contractors, tradespeople, and DIY customers
Solid knowledge of tools and compact equipment; experience in the rental industry is considered a strong asset
Business and financial acumen, including an understanding of revenue, utilization, margins, and key performance metrics
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with technology and operational systems, including rental management, fleet tracking, reservations, and reporting tools
The physical capability to safely lift 50+ lbs and work in an active, hands-on environment
A valid Ontario driver’s licence (G class)
Who You Are
A hands-on leader who leads by example and earns the team’s respect through action and accountability
Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and building long-term customer relationships
Highly accountable, taking ownership of results and proactively addressing challenges and opportunities

A people developer who coaches, mentors, and supports the growth and success of others
Committed to maintaining a safe workplace and fostering a culture where safety is non-negotiable
