Full job description
CLV Group is a leading Canadian real estate firm specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of high-quality multi-family rental communities. We deliver strong, consistent returns through innovative management, a customer-first approach, and over 50 years of operational excellence.
We are currently seeking a Live-In Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team at 100 Main Street, a 300-unit high-rise apartment community in downtown Hamilton. This hands-on role is ideal for a skilled and dependable maintenance professional who takes pride in their work, has a customer-focused approach, and is passionate about creating exceptional living experiences for residents.
In this position, you will help ensure the property remains safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently while delivering outstanding service and support to our residents. You will play a key role in maintaining the overall quality, appearance, and functionality of the community.
As a Live-In Maintenance Technician, you'll have the unique opportunity to live and work at 100 Main, experiencing firsthand what makes this community a great place to call home. Located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, 100 Main is a high-rise residential community featuring spacious one-and two-bedroom suites, modern renovations, private balconies, and stunning city views. Situated within Hamilton's vibrant business district, the property offers residents unparalleled convenience, with easy access to Jackson Square, Gore Park, Hess Village, shopping, dining, schools, parks, and public transit. With a Walk Score of 99 and Hamilton GO Centre just a short walk away, 100 Main provides an exceptional urban living experience in one of the city's most connected neighbourhoods.
Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilities typically expected of a maintenance professional, responsibilities will include:
Responding to routine and urgent maintenance requests from residents in a timely and professional manner.
Performing general maintenance, repairs, and adjustments to building systems, suites, and common areas.
Support the ongoing upkeep and safe operation of property amenities, fixtures, and equipment.
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and repairs.
Assist with seasonal property operations, including snow removal.
Ensure work areas are kept clean and safe.
Work collaboratively with site staff, management, and external vendors as required.
Adhere to all workplace health & safety policies and report safety hazards to management.
Qualifications
Working knowledge and professional experience in a wide variety of residential maintenance and light renovation tasks.
General understanding of residential building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and heating systems.
Experience in performing basic appliance and fixture repairs is considered a strong asset.
Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Our Team + What You Can Expect
Most work will be completed on-site at 100 Main Street E, Hamilton ON. The successful candidate may be required to work at other locations based on operational needs and at the discretion of the employer.
Must have valid, class G driver’s license, access to personal vehicle, and clean drivers abstract to respond to urgent work orders at neighboring properties.
Must have tools necessary to complete basic maintenance tasks. Any specialty tools required will be provided by the employer.
Ability to respond to emergencies during regular operating hours.
Participation in an after-hours rotational response team may be required.
Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this position is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills, experience, and other job-related qualifications. We recognize that individuals bring diverse skill sets, strengths, and career experiences, and we encourage candidates at all stages of their careers to apply.
In addition to competitive compensation, all employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents. CLV covers 100% of employee and dependent benefit premiums.
At CLV, we recognize the importance of taking time away from work to rest and recharge. That's why all employees receive three weeks of paid vacation annually, beginning to accrue on their first day of employment.
