The student employee will assist the Administrative Assistant in supporting the day-to-day functions of the Office of Student Affairs, including greeting visitors and answering phones. Student employee to be available to run errands and assist the Assistant Vice President and the Vice President of Student Affairs in other duties as assigned and to be present in the absence of the Administrative Assistant.

Specific Skills/Aptitudes:
The position involves a lot of direct work with Administrative Assistant to VPSA, and covering office in her absence. Critical interpersonal skills required, as well as the ability to handle serious/difficult situations, and the capacity for appropriate decision making that goes beyond office work.
- Student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours during the Fall/Spring semesters. Must be enrolled in one summer course or be registered in at least six credit hours for the following Fall semester to work during the Summer semester.
- At time of hire the student has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or first semester enrolled at Oakton.
- Student can show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Student is making satisfactory progress toward achieving their educational goals.
