Position Summary
Directs the housekeeping program to ensure the facility remains clean, orderly, and well-maintained by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
General Responsibilities
Supervise housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure quality standards are met
Ensure the department operates according to hotel standards, policies, and procedures
Provide prompt, courteous, and professional guest service
Provide timely updates and feedback to the Supervisor or General Manager
Specific Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in guest rooms, corridors, and public areas
Assign rooms and duties to housekeeping staff and provide direction, supervision, and support
Assist with employee training and ensure staff have the tools and equipment needed to perform their duties effectively
Maintain and monitor PAR levels and submit monthly linen and terry inventory reports
Assist with recruitment and staffing within the housekeeping department
Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, and linens are clean and in good repair
Oversee the ordering, receiving, counting, and storage of linens, bathroom supplies, cleaning materials, and equipment
Report any damage, breakage, or out-of-service items immediately to the Duty Manager for resolution or guest billing if applicable
Communicate housekeeping staff needs regarding materials, supplies, or equipment to management
Notify management when supply or equipment PAR levels are insufficient
Maintain procedures for lost and found items to ensure security and proper documentation
Maximize resources while maintaining cost controls according to hotel guidelines
Identify departmental training needs and recommend training programs to management regularly
Respond to guest complaints, requests, or maintenance concerns and communicate them to the Front Office Manager or General Manager
Maintain high product quality and service standards for all hotel guests
Ensure guest satisfaction at all times
Maintain flexibility to work varying schedules to meet operational needs
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
