The Beverage Bar Back is responsible for stocking beverage stations with supplies, ice, and fruit while maintaining cleanliness in the bar areas. They must transport heavy liquor and supply carts throughout the casino and provide professional customer service.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and are preferred to have a high school diploma and previous customer service experience. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate various beverage-related equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obtain supplies and equipment for each beverage station and place fruits, glasses and silverware in their respective places.
2. Prepare fruit, fill ice bins and clean ashtrays.
3. Wash glasses for the bartender and clear debris from the bar.
4. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
5. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
6. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
7. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
8. Attend all necessary meetings.
9. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Pushing, pulling and turning a four wheel loaded cart to all bars in the casino from the liquor storeroom. The weight of a loaded cart will vary, from one hundred (100) to five hundred (500) pounds, depending upon the size and content of orders.
2. Unload cart and place or stack orders in pre-designated areas.
3. Return empty cart to liquor storeroom.
4. Remove trash, empty boxes, and soiled bar towels one to four (4) times a shift.
5. Sort trash at dumpster areas into proper container, i.e. boxes, trash, and towels. Return empty trash carts.
6. Know the location of all bars within the complex.
7. Thoroughly clean the floors of all mats and the floor behind bars (swing & graveyard shift).
8. Position requires extensive walking, pushing, and pulling.
9. Exchange empty bottles of liquor for full bottles in pump room.
10. Change Bag in Box, CO2 tanks and tap kegs.
11. May be called upon to deliver empty bottles to liquor storeroom area.
12. May be called upon to deliver ice to bars.
13. Occasionally act as Beverage Bartender when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. High school diploma or its equivalency preferred.
3. Previous customer service experience preferred.
4. Ability to operate the following equipment: Juice guns, cutting boards, soda guns, ice machines, mixers, pourers, knives, coffee machines, non-alcoholic frozen drink machines, ice tea machines, and other necessary equipment.
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. Ability to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
4. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
1. Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the casino.
2. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations.
3. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, bend, pull and carry beverage stock to and from refrigerators and cabinets.
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
