Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, or collections, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in mortgage servicing software and a strong understanding of investor guidelines like FHA and Fannie Mae are required.
The Loss Mitigation Underwriter plays a key role in the initial review of a loss mitigation application. The specialist ensures compliance with investor, regulatory, and company guidelines while providing high-quality customer service.
Must-Have Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.• 2+ years in mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, collections, or related financial services.• Experience with investor guidelines (FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) strongly preferred.• Strong understanding of mortgage delinquency, loss mitigation, and foreclosure prevention practices.• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.• Proficient in mortgage servicing software (e.g., MSP, Black Knight) and Microsoft Office Suite.• Ability to work under pressure and meet regulatory deadlines.• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
