The Opportunity: Join a purpose driven team supporting government initiatives that matter. As an Acquisition & Contracting Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies, advising stakeholders, and helping ensure that complex acquisition efforts stay on track and fully compliant. Your expertise will directly support high visibility programs, giving you the opportunity to see the real world impact of your work. This position supports government personnel but all work performed is inherently non governmental and does not involve the exercise of discretionary government authority. This role is ideal for a former GS 1102, Contracting Officer, or Contract Specialist who has operated with a limited warrant and is familiar with fast paced, mission driven acquisition environments within the Department of Defense or U.S. Military. This role offers the potential for remote or hybrid flexibility.
Responsibilities:
Develop, review, and refine Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), Statements of Objectives (SOOs), and other procurement artifacts for agency approval.
Prepare acquisition strategies, market research reports, Justification & Approval (J&A) documents, and Independent Government Estimates (IGEs).
Support the creation of complete, compliant solicitation packages aligned with FAR, DFAR, and internal acquisition policies.
Partner closely with program managers, engineers, contracting officers, and vendors to clarify technical needs and acquisition milestones.
Track and oversee acquisition timelines, deliverables, and overall project performance.
Maintain precise records of contract modifications and award documentation provided by Procurement.
Draft clear, high‑quality technical documents, including design narratives, requirements documents, project charters, risk assessments, and change‑management documentation.
Update, standardize, and streamline construction project materials, templates, and reference documents.
Ensure every document meets agency standards for consistency, technical accuracy, formatting, and compliance.
Qualifications:
Required:
More than five (5+) years of experience in federal acquisition lifecycle management.
Active, current DoD TS/SCI clearance
Experience using FAR and DFAR‑based acquisition approaches under time‑sensitive requirements.
Ability to clearly communicate acquisition lifecycle phases to stakeholders to prevent delays or bottlenecks.
Ability to effectively manage procurements throughout the entire acquisition lifecycle.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) and MS Project.
Desired:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in business administration or a related field.
Prior acquisition and contracting experience within a federal agency.
PowerBI proficiency, including the ability to build dashboards illustrating acquisition lifecycle phases.
Current FAC‑C, FAC‑P/PM, DAWIA Contracting certification (aligned with “Back to Basics”), or a similar certification demonstrating acquisition, lifecycle, and contract‑management proficiency.
