Who We Are:
SiriusXM and its brands (Pandora, SiriusXM Media, AdsWizz, Simplecast, and SiriusXM Connect) are leading a new era of audio entertainment and services by delivering the most compelling subscription and ad-supported audio entertainment experience for listeners -- in the car, at home, and anywhere on the go with connected devices. Our vision is to shape the future of audio, where everyone can be effortlessly connected to the voices, stories and music they love wherever they are.
This is the place where a diverse group of emerging talent and legends alike come to share authentic and purposeful songs, stories, sounds and insights through some of the best programming and technology in the world. Our critically-acclaimed, industry-leading audio entertainment encompasses music, sports, comedy, news, talk, live events, and podcasting. No matter their individual role, each of our employees plays a vital part in bringing SiriusXM’s vision to life every day.
SiriusXM is the leading audio entertainment company in North America, and the premier programmer and platform for subscription and digital advertising-supported audio products. SiriusXM’s platforms collectively reach approximately 150 million listeners, the largest digital audio audience across paid and free tiers in North America, and deliver music, sports, talk, news, comedy, entertainment and podcasts. Pandora, a subsidiary of SiriusXM, is the largest ad-supported audio entertainment streaming service in the U.S. SiriusXM's subsidiaries Simplecast and AdsWizz make it a leader in podcast hosting, production, distribution, analytics and monetization. The Company’s advertising sales organization, which operates as SiriusXM Media, leverages its scale, cross-platform sales organization and ad tech capabilities to deliver results for audio creators and advertisers. SiriusXM, through SiriusXM Canada Holdings, Inc., also offers satellite radio and audio entertainment in Canada. In addition to its audio entertainment businesses, SiriusXM offers connected vehicle services to automakers.
How you’ll make an impact:
The Director of Investor Relations (IR) serves as an expert individual contributor responsible for helping to shape and communicate the investment narrative of Sirius XM to the global financial community. Applies deep investor relations expertise to influence how the company is understood and valued by the broader market, while operating through cross-functional partnership and executive advisory support. Reporting to the SVP of Investor Relations, this role serves as a key interface between executive leadership and external stakeholders, including institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and shareholders.
The Director of IR will help execute a proactive investor relations strategy that clearly articulates the company’s long-term value proposition, financial performance, capital allocation priorities, and initiatives across its core subscription and advertising-driven audio businesses. Designs and advances IR-specific strategies, valuation frameworks, and investor messaging approaches that support long-term market perception and internal valuation perspectives, including multiple analysis, sum-of-the-parts analysis, and DCF-based views of company value. The role partners closely with the SVP of IR and executive leadership team to ensure consistent, transparent, and compelling messaging aligned with corporate strategy, financial performance and external communications. Advises and influences executive decision-making through differentiated analytics, market insight, and strategic counsel.
Key responsibilities include aiding in the quarterly earnings processes, investor communications, targeting and engagement, shareholder base analysis, and market intelligence. Leads the development of advanced analytical approaches and investor intelligence capabilities that provide differentiated, forward-looking insights to leadership within the IR function. The role also helps monitor trading dynamics, peer positioning, and broader market trends to provide actionable insights to leadership and inform strategic decision-making. Applies these insights to recommend IR, valuation, and messaging improvements in high-stakes or complex market environments.
This leader plays a pivotal role in maintaining credibility and trust with the investment community, supporting valuation, and positioning Sirius XM effectively within the evolving media and digital audio landscape. Partners on the company’s investor relations approach in high-impact situations, including major transactions, activist engagement, or market disruption, by shaping external messaging and investor strategy within the IR function. Establishes IR communication standards and best practices that strengthen consistency, credibility, and market-facing reputation.
What you’ll do:
Aid in the production of high-quality investor materials, including earnings releases, presentations, and Board reporting. Evolve the company’s investment narrative through innovative, IR-specific communication frameworks and materials.
Monitor stock performance, ownership trends, and trading dynamics; provide regular analysis and recommendations. Interpret complex market signals to advise company positioning and influence executive decision-making on valuation and investor perception.
Monitor industry developments and competitive market trends and develop executive summaries for key leaders on peer company news and performance. Develop forward-looking market intelligence approaches that inform IR strategy, executive messaging, and company positioning.
Support investor targeting and engagement strategy to optimize shareholder base. Develop advanced investor targeting frameworks and engagement models that support the company’s desired long-term shareholder composition.
Build and interpret valuation frameworks (DCF, trading comparables, and sum-of-the-parts) to inform investor messaging and strategic decision-making. Model valuation approaches and perspectives that help shape how the market understands and values the company.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors and sell-side analysts. Serve as a credible external IR expert for the company in high-profile investor engagements and relevant industry forums.
Aid in synthesizing investor feedback, analyst perspectives, and shareholder data into actionable insights for senior leadership. Translate market feedback into strategic IR recommendations that influence enterprise priorities and long-term direction.
Maintain and manage sell-side consensus models while influencing external analyst assumptions and broader market expectations.
Help oversee investor events, including the annual investor meeting and conferences by designing differentiated, high-impact engagement strategies that strengthen the company’s market positioning.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness of all external IR communications, including the IR website while setting IR communication standards and best practices across relevant Finance, Legal, Communications, and executive stakeholder groups.
Partner on the company’s response to high-stakes, enterprise-critical situations (e.g., major transactions, activist scenarios, or market disruptions), shaping external messaging and investor strategy.
Act as a company-level IR thought leader in investor relations, contributing to external publications, forums, or industry engagement that enhances the company’s credibility and visibility in the investment community.
Influence and guide senior executives through innovative approaches to investor communication, developing IR principles and frameworks adopted by key cross-functional partners.
What you’ll need:
Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience in Investor relations, equity research, investment banking, or institutional investing experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; MBA preferred.
Media, telecommunications, or technology sector experience strongly preferred
Strong financial acumen, including valuation methodologies (DCF, multiples, sum-of-the-parts) and deep understanding of financial statements and cash flow dynamics
Proven ability to translate complex financial and strategic concepts into clear, compelling narratives
Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience engaging senior executives and external stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from market data, investor behavior, and industry trends
High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and manage multiple priorities
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with automation and/AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini
