About the Hiring Team
What the Role Entails
Tencent Games was established in 2003. We are a leading global platform for game development, operations and publishing, and the largest online game community in China. Tencent Games has developed and operated over 140 games. We provide cross-platform interactive entertainment experience for more than 800 million users in over 200 countries and regions around the world. Honor of Kings, PUBG MOBILE, and League of Legends, are some of our most popular titles around the world. Meanwhile, we actively promote the development of esports industry, work with global partners to build an open, collaborative and symbiotic industrial ecology, and create high-quality digital life experiences for players.
Director of Strategic Partnerships - North America
About the Role
Tencent Games is looking for a senior partnerships leader to own and deepen our relationships with the most important companies in Western gaming — first-party platforms, major publishers, and leading developers. This is a relationship-first role for someone who can open doors at the executive level, turn conversations into long-term strategic partnerships, and represent Tencent credibly with the industry's most senior decision-makers.
What You'll Do
Own senior-level relationships with key platform and publisher partners, serving as a trusted point of contact from working teams up to the C-suite
Identify, shape, and drive strategic partnership opportunities end-to-end — from first conversation through structuring, alignment, and execution
Partner closely with business unit leadership and cross-functional teams (studios, publishing, investment, legal) to land and deliver on partnership commitments
Bring sharp, timely market and competitive intelligence back into the organization to inform strategy and deal priorities
Represent Tencent Games at major industry events, conferences, and executive forums
Who We Look For
Based in North America with 10+ years in gaming, or in consulting/banking with deep gaming sector exposure
An existing network across platforms and publishers — established C-suite and senior executive relationships are a strong plus
A natural relationship builder who thrives on opening new doors: comfortable cold-calling a studio founder on Monday and presenting to a platform executive on Friday
Equally strong as a team player and an independent operator — you don't wait to be handed opportunities
Outstanding communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills; comfortable with ambiguity and matrixed organizations
Genuine passion for games and the business behind them
