Job Description
The AECOM Edmonton Transportation Department is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate to work in the Bridge Inspection Team.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in the inspection of various bridge components such as substructures, superstructures, and approach roads
Conduct inspections in accordance with the BIM (Bridge Inspection and Maintenance System) inspection manual and other relevant regulations
Understanding structural behavior such as load paths, force distributions, and bending actions to assess the condition and severity of in-service bridges
Preparation of inspection forms, reports and rehabilitation recommendations in accordance with industry standards
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company safety protocols
Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and senior engineers
Supporting project coordination, scheduling, and documentation as required
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or have demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Relevant internship or professional work experience such as field inspection, bridge or structural construction, or structural design and detailing.
Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities and interpersonal skills
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, Microsoft Project, and standard office software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
