Acts as a department liaison to referring physician offices to facilitate and coordinate complex patient scheduling for imaging and clinical procedures. Ensures efficient workflow and high patient satisfaction by managing appointment sequencing and providing clinical guidance on exams.
Requires an associate degree in Business or Healthcare Sciences with knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology, or equivalent experience. Must have at least three years of experience in clinical services coordination and proficiency in CPT coding and third-party payor requirements.
Associate degree in Business or Healthcare Sciences / Administration with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology courses required or equivalent healthcare experience. Ongoing continuing education related to correct coding and understanding of regulatory compliance is encouraged.
Minimum of three (3) years as a Clinical Services Assistant or equivalent position with direct experience coordinating and facilitating patient appointment scheduling in a healthcare environment. Individual must have computer experience in such applications as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc. Individual must have previous experience or education related to Third Party Payor requirements, CPT coding, and medical necessity as it pertains to the Imaging section.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with referring physicians, nursing/scheduling professionals, or directly with patients to assess their needs in order to maximize coordination of care. Individual must have critical thinking skills and analytical abilities as it relates to assessment of clinical needs, exam urgency, and appointment sequencing using computer skills to assist with decision support, as well as the problem solving skills to make decisions independently within position guidelines and expectations.
Ability to lift 25 pounds to assist with supplies etc.
