The Return Counsellor provides return counselling services within Federal Asylum Centers in Switzerland. The role involves collaborating with a team of counsellors and supporting the project manager in the implementation and coordination of return activities.
Requires a university degree in Social Work, Political Science, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience. Fluency in English and German is mandatory, along with a good knowledge of French and the Swiss asylum system.

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate (and, in collaboration with State Secretariat for Migration – SEM - and other partners in the Federal Asylum Centres, FACs), the Return Counsellor is responsible for undertaking return counselling in the Federal Asylum Center in Altstätten (80%) and possibly other centers in the region East Switzerland or Zurich for replacements. The selected candidate will collaborate with the existing team of 9 return counsellors, while supporting the project manager with the implementation and coordination of return counselling in the FACs and in close coordination with the other Return Counsellors in the region and in Switzerland.
