Full job description
Senior Marketing Manager (Direct to Consumer)
About the team
SumUp is building a consumer financial product with a distribution advantage that almost no other fintech can replicate.
More than four million merchants use SumUp, and more than a billion consumers come into contact with our products each year. We now have the opportunity to turn that reach into one of the world’s largest consumer financial ecosystems.
Our consumer product is already live across six European markets. The next challenge is to grow it from an emerging proposition into a product used by millions of consumers, and this role will lead that journey.
This role sits at the heart of that growth. This role sits at the heart of that growth. As our new Senior Marketing Manager, you’ll own the owned and earned strategies that win customers directly, from the website and PR to partnerships, social, and brand across all six markets
. It's a rare chance to build a direct acquisition engine from scratch inside a small, ambitious team, competing head-to-head with some of the best-funded neobanks in Europe.
What you'll do
Own direct-to-consumer strategy across website, PR and comms, partnerships, social, events, and brand and out-of-home, across six markets through and beyond the brand campaign window
Build the website into a high-converting acquisition surface, owning messaging, offers, content, localisation, and advertising across all markets
Drive PR, comms, and partnership strategies that build the consumer brand
Stand up the retail and merchant-sales-channel motion for the consumer product
Hold and improve the direct cost-per-customer target, and report on direct-acquisition performance to feed channel-mix decisions
Work closely with the central brand team, external creative and PR agencies, and peer marketing managers to keep channel boundaries clean and handoffs tight
You'll be great for this role if…
Strong B2C consumer-acquisition or brand-marketing experience, ideally in fintech, a neobank, retail, or a direct-to-consumer business
Hands-on across owned and earned channels: website and conversion, PR and comms, partnerships, social, and events
Comfortable owning acquisition metrics, attribution, and cost-per-customer across a channel set
Experience planning and executing multi-market campaigns with localisation across multiple languages
Ability to operate independently, influence across matrixed teams and agencies, and build from scratch in an early-stage environment
Why you should join SumUp
🌎 Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our central London Bridge location, wrapped in historic charm and modern flair. This involves an office-first setup
🌈 Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced
🚀 Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success
🏖 Generous time off: enjoy 28 days of paid leave, plus bank holidays and special leaves
📚 A dedicated annual L&D budget for attending conferences and/or advancing your career through further education
🏥 Health matters: private health insurance, including optical and dental
🚗 Life made easier: salary-sacrifice commuter benefits via Gogeta
💼 Financial security: retirement scheme (SumUp matches 7% when you contribute 5%) 🛡 Peace of mind: life insurance from MetLife for 2× your salary
🌴 Break4me: 1-month sabbatical after 3 years of service
🔗 Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the SumUp team
