The Ortho Technician acts as a Medical Assistant focusing on the application and removal of casts, splints, and braces. They provide patient education on casting care and assistive devices while performing clinical tasks like suture removal and wound care.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (or able to become one within 90 days). A minimum of one year of experience with casting and DME, along with BLS certification, is required.

Summary of benefits:

At Olympia Orthopaedic Associates, an Ortho Technician is a Medical Assistant who aids in patient care by performing the application and removal of casts, splints, and braces. You will help ensure proper healing of patient injuries through education of proper casting care and instruction on using crutches, walkers, and other aides. Along with administrative tasks, you could also be responsible for removal of sutures and staples, re-bandaging of wounds, and/or application of steri-strips.
