Overview:
Join our dynamic team at Powell as an Electrical Install Apprentice!
As an Install Apprentice, Electrical, you’ll work closely with licensed electricians supporting residential electrical installations. Your days will include learning how to safely install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in customers’ homes while developing strong technical fundamentals. You’ll be trained on tools, materials, codes, and best practices, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills and confidence grow. This is an active, hands‑on role where no two days are the same—and where your effort directly contributes to safe, comfortable homes.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical repairs and installations: Assist with residential electrical installations, upgrades, and repairs. Run wiring, install outlets, switches, panels, and fixtures under supervision.
Customer Interaction: Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries. Interact respectfully with homeowners and represent the company professionally
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and guidelines to create a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other electricians and team members, contributing to a positive and efficient work atmosphere.
Learning and Development: Learn to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and job specifications. Stay up to date on electrical codes, technologies, and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Qualifications:
Experience: 1+ years of hands-on electrical experience preferred. Current enrollment in or completion of an electrical training program or apprenticeship is a plus.
Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Must be reliable and have a teamwork mindset.
Licensing: Valid electrician’s license or certification as required by state and local regulations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various conditions, including tight spaces and at heights; must possess physical stamina and dexterity. Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be eligible to obtain a Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) license through the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) once hired. Please see Fingerprinting, Disclosure, and Background Review - CSLB for more information.
Must be willing to undergo a background check, drug screen, physical, and lift test.
