The Physical Therapy Assistant implements prescribed plans of care to restore and enhance patient performance under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include performing clinical documentation, quality improvement, and educating patients and their families on treatment procedures.
Candidates must hold an Associate's Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program and possess a state license. CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required, and one year of experience is preferred, though new graduates are welcome.
The Physical Therapy Assistant I is responsible to the Department Director and supervising Physical Therapist, to provide treatment to the patient prescribed by the physician within the guidelines of the Physical Therapy Practice Act, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position implements the plan of care to restore and enhance performance. This position also performs documentation and quality improvement, as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
