Candidates must have a BSN, at least 3 years of clinical practice, and precepting experience, while being enrolled in an MSN program. Valid Pennsylvania RN licensure, BLS certification, and Act 33, 34, and 73 clearances are required.
Purpose:
A nursing professional who has the authority, responsibility and accountability for the clinical instruction of students at the Schools of Nursing at UPMC. The position requires clinical competence as a professional nurse and the ability to instruct, guide and evaluate nursing students during the provision of nursing care to patients during clinical practicum experience.
Responsibilities:
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
