WOOD Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and forward‑thinking Systems Engineer Level 3 to help drive mission‑critical initiatives focused on developing, integrating, evaluating, and operationalizing cutting‑edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities within a complex government environment.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with mission stakeholders, government leadership, and cross‑functional engineering teams to shape user‑centric standards, frameworks, and technical solutions that define how human‑in‑the‑loop and human‑on‑the‑loop AI systems are built and deployed. While prior experience supporting AI, Machine Learning (ML), or advanced analytics initiatives is not a mandatory requirement, we’re looking for someone who brings curiosity, adaptability, and a strong willingness to grow into this rapidly evolving area.
If you thrive in environments where innovation meets mission impact, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and want to help influence how trusted AI capabilities accelerate national‑level missions, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a measurable difference. You’ll be part of the team ensuring that AI technologies remain trustworthy, operationally relevant, and aligned with real user needs—today and as the landscape continues to evolve.
Application Process: Interested candidates should submit their resume detailing their qualifications and experience.
Security Clearance Requirements:
This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Coordinate across teams and organizations to ensure solutions satisfy technical and operational requirements.
Assist in planning, tracking, and managing engineering activities, risks, dependencies, and technical decisions.
AI Systems Standards & Integration
Support the development of user-centric standards and the creation of governance frameworks for human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop AI systems.
Assist with cross-product integration activities to ensure consistency and interoperability across mission capabilities.
Participate in the development, evaluation, and implementation of AI-related engineering standards and practices.
Support technical implementation activities associated with AI-enabled mission systems.

Document and communicate technical information, recommendations, status, risks, and decisions both orally and in writing.
Facilitate coordination among stakeholders, engineering teams, and leadership.
Support technical briefings, working groups, and collaborative engineering activities.
Analysis & Problem Solving
Conduct analysis of alternatives and recommend engineering solutions.
Identify technical risks and support mitigation planning.
Engage in creative problem-solving and systems thinking activities to address mission challenges.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving requirements, and uncertain environments.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of six (6) years of systems engineering experience supporting complex technical programs, consistent with SE Level III requirements.
Experience applying systems engineering principles across multiple lifecycle phases, including requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, verification, validation, and operational support.
Experience supporting stakeholder requirements development, technical planning, risk management, and information management activities.
Demonstrated ability to analyze technical alternatives and recommend engineering solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to operate effectively in dynamic and rapidly changing environments.
