JOB SUMMARY:
Performs general accounting, cash management, and accounts payable and receivable tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Enters financial data, and prepares and processes checks to pay obligations of GDPM in an accurate and timely manner.
2. Monitors and balances contractual accounts, and prepares accurate and up-to-date reports to show account status and funding levels.
3. Processes grant and subsidy disbursements and assures that appropriate funding levels are maintained in relevant accounts.
4. Monitors and tracks usage of GDPM vehicles, and prepares and processes payments for routine maintenance of GDPM vehicles.
5. Makes check and cash deposits at local banks.
6. Performs accurate accounting and posting of cash receipts.
7. Process petty cash reimbursement requests.
8. Regular and in person attendance.
9. Performs other tasks as directed by the Controller.
10. Payroll backup as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent must:
1. Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience.
2. Have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial accounting software.
3. Be able to communicate orally and in writing.
4. Be able to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:
a. Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;
b. Talk and hear;
c. See and be able to read, write, and interpret text and spreadsheet documents;
d. Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
