Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Line Mechanic to join our Wellington team and help deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electricity network services.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground power network infrastructure. You’ll work as part of a team that ensures essential services are restored quickly and safely, particularly during outages, upgrades, and emergency events.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role where no two days are the same - you’ll be working across a range of sites and conditions to keep the network operating at its best.
Ngā Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
We are looking for candidates with EWRB registration or equivalent assessment, along with:
New Zealand registered Line Mechanic, or Streetlight Level Standard qualification
Current full Class 1 driver’s licence
Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively when required
Strong commitment to safety, including completing daily safety documentation, job sheets, and timesheets accurately
Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required
Willingness to participate in an on-call roster for outage response
Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Basic computer skills and confidence using workplace systems
