Market Research - Observational Studies & Face-Face Interviewing - Newcastle, Hunter & Central Coast

The opportunity

As a Market Researcher, you’ll be at the forefront of our data collection process. The program measures the quality and consistency of service providers with an observational mindset from a set list of criteria delivered from the client, as well as face to face interviews with the public with a short form survey.

Observations will be undertaken either while in transit on our client services or at their stabling locations before departure (travel to stabling locations will require an early start time as well as a personal vehicle and additional compensation for both will be provided).

Interviews will be undertaken while in transit on our client’s services around Newcastle, Hunter & Central Coast region.

This market research project runs throughout July. Shifts start as early as 4am or end as late as 5pm with average lengths typically between 7 to 8 hours. 

Suitable applicants will be invited to complete an online interview. For successful Applicants, you will be contacted for paid training to be held at our Sydney office. Attendance is mandatory to be considered for the role. Those who perform well and have good availability may be offered work on other casual projects.

Your key responsibilities

• Minimum availability of three days per week (weekends inclusive)
• Project will have start times as early as 4am or finishing at 5pm - availability for these times will be required

Skills and attributes for success

• Currently living within Newcastle or within surrounding Hunter and Central Coast regions.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.
• Demonstrated fluency in spoken and written English - excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling is required
• Access to a personal vehicle for travel to locations is highly desired but not a requirement
• Ability to understand and follow correct procedures with minimal errors
• A strong interest in the data collection process and adherence to data integrity
• Punctuality, respectfulness, and professional presentation
• Willingness to work on your feet in outdoor environments for various shift lengths and times

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

• Excellent communication skills with respondents, stakeholders and greater EY Studio+ team
• Proven understanding of the standards relating to quality data in market research (accuracy, consistency, and integrity).
• Experience in market research will be highly regarded but not essential
