The Emergency Medical Responder is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients between facilities while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism. They must also ensure vehicle readiness, document patient assessments accurately, and collaborate with outside agencies in hazardous environments.
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and possess a valid Alberta Operator's License (Class 1, 2, or 4). Additionally, current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics and active CPR certification are mandatory.

The EMR provides timely transportation between appropriate facilities. Due to the nature of operating in the public eye, a high level of professionalism, communication, and knowledge is always expected. The EMR is required to conduct themselves in a safe and discreet manner, with the responsibility of conduct justification to patients, family members, hospitals staff, management, public agencies, legal court, and more.
