The Role
Are you passionate about building high-quality software and shaping modern architectures? Join our Digital Solutions team at Zühlke, where innovation meets craftsmanship. As a Senior Software Engineer (Node.js), you’ll work on diverse projects for international clients, applying best practices and modern technologies to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions.

How You’ll Make an Impact
Develop and maintain modern web applications and cloud-native architectures using Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams, contributing to design, implementation, and deployment.
Ensure clean code, robust structure, and high test coverage for reliable and maintainable solutions.
Work closely with architects and product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices for continuous delivery.
Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture.
Embrace AI and emerging technologies to improve software development processes.
What’s Important to Us
Strong professional experience with Node.js and its ecosystem, preferably NestJS or similar backend frameworks.
Excellent knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frontend technologies, ideally React and Next.js.
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Strong understanding of relational databases, including data modeling, SQL, and performance optimization.
Experience building and deploying containerized applications using Docker.
Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and RESTful API design.
Strong experience with automated testing (e.g. Vitest, Jest, Cypress) and modern CI/CD practices.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and engineering best practices, with the ability to make sound technical decisions.
Proven ability to simplify complex architectures, reduce technical debt, and modernize legacy systems through pragmatic, incremental improvements while continuing to deliver business value.
Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum or similar) with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Professional proficiency in English, with willingness to undertake occasional travel when needed.
Nice to Have
Experience with Microsoft Azure.
Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Experience building integrations with third-party platforms and APIs, particularly within e-commerce ecosystems.
