Material Review Board Coordinator - Millennium Space Systems
Company:
Millennium Space Systems
Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. Our missions have direct impact to global security, like missile warning and Earth observation.
Our team is curious, bold and innovative. We take risks, innovate and explore new techniques and technologies. We influence change because we challenge the status quo. And when we watch our satellites launch, we know each one of us made it happen.
Job Summary:
The Material Review Board (MRB) Coordinator supports Quality by coordinating and driving the timely review, disposition, and closure of nonconforming material. This position manages the MRB queue, facilitates cross-functional MRB meetings, tracks aging nonconformances, and works with Engineering, Supply Chain, Supply Reliability, and Receiving Inspection to remove
roadblocks and maintain material flow. The MRB Coordinator owns the coordination and follow through of the MRB process while technical dispositions remain the responsibility of authorized Engineering, Quality, or other designated personnel.
This position's internal job is Supplier Reliability Specialist. Our team is currently hiring for levels 3.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage open MRB nonconformances, maintaining visibility of aging, stagnant, priority, and production impacting items requiring action
Lead recurring MRB meetings with Buyers, Planners, Supply Reliability Engineers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Receiving Inspection to review status, determine next actions, and establish ownership
Drive nonconformances toward timely disposition and closure by actively following up with responsible action owners and identifying issues preventing progress
Review workflow and reassign or route nonconformances to the appropriate responsible individual or organization when technical review, supplier action, or additional ownership is required
Verify nonconformance records are complete and ready for review, including clear problem descriptions, affected part or lot information, supporting documentation, and required attachments
Track MRB action items, due dates, dispositions, supplier responses, and outstanding requirements to ensure actions are completed and properly documented
Identify and escalate aging, stagnant, or high priority nonconformances that may impact production schedules, material availability, or program commitments
Coordinate with Buyers, Supply Reliability, and suppliers to obtain missing or corrected
Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, special process certifications, FAIRs, and other required documentation
Route received supplier documentation to the appropriate Quality or Inspection personell for technical review and validation
Follow up until documentation related nonconformances have been resolved
Coordinate containment and material status with Receiving Inspection and Quality Engineering, ensuring affected material is properly identified, segregated, and accounted for while awaiting disposition
Coordinate execution of approved dispositions such as rework, Return to Vendor (RTV), replacement, scrap, or return to inspection, ensuring actions are routed to the appropriate organization
Perform final coordination checks prior to nonconformance closure to ensure required disposition actions, supporting documentation, inspector verification, and applicable approvals have been completed.
Maintain accurate MRB status, aging, action, and closure metrics and provide routine updates to Quality leadership
Support continuous improvement and standardization of MRB processes, including workflows, dashboards, trackers, and escalation processes to reduce nonconformance cycle time and improve material flow.
Support internal and external audits and quality reviews by providing accurate nonconformance status, records, and supporting documentation.
4+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Receiving Inspection, Quality Manufacturing, or a related aerospace/manufacturing environment
