Full job description
In Short
As the Specialist - Technical Representative, you will brainstorm, plan, and execute regional product education and experiential activations to deliver consistent retail support and build local brand affinity within local communities. Connecting your daily efforts directly to our mission of igniting the human spirit through movement, you will serve as the reliable, go-to product expert for store staff within your territory. Reporting to the Technical Representative Lead within the Brand Experience team, you will collaborate closely with local Sales Representatives and others on the Marketing team to protect account health and ensure On is represented with premium execution across all partner touchpoints with our top partners.
This position is travel-intensive (up to 60%) and as a perk, a company vehicle will be included for use as a perk. We have two roles open on the team! Our ideal team members will live within about an hour's drive from Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC.
Your Mission
Product Education: Conduct high-impact product knowledge clinics that clearly articulate the technical features and performance benefits of footwear and apparel collections to elevate retail staff expertise.
Retail Activations: Support established retail partner activations through the seamless execution of product demos, community test-runs, and brand trial experiences.
Territory Management: Plan and schedule territory store visits systematically to maintain consistent, reliable communication and support with retail store managers.
Event Logistics: Coordinate local event logistics for regional product launch activities, ensuring alignment with predefined marketing calendars to drive retail excitement.
Event Execution: Execute brand presence at local corporate health expos, fitness trade shows, and community events, managing setup, teardown, and direct consumer engagement.
Grassroots Advocacy: Identify and cultivate relationships with local running clubs and fitness communities to amplify brand visibility and drive grassroots advocacy.
Visual Merchandising: Implement and audit in-store visual merchandising standards during site visits, correcting product displays to ensure premium brand consistency.
Inventory Liaison: Monitor territory stock levels during account visits and communicate immediate inventory gaps to local Sales Representatives to facilitate fill-in orders.
Market Insights: Gather localized store-level feedback, competitor observations, and staff insights to share directly with immediate team members and your leader.
Your Story
- You bring 1–3 years of experience within a role as a technical representative, a sales representative, retail sales, for an outdoor or run specialty retail brand
- Foundational understanding of—or a strong aptitude to quickly learn—the deeper technical aspects of human physiology and product engineering within the running space
- Comfort, ease, and engaging energy when presenting educational information to audiences ranging from retailers, customers, and industry professionals
- Ability to track personal travel schedules, manage account visit expenses, and utilize basic office productivity tools efficiently
- Willingness to navigate a travel-intensive schedule of up to 60% across the designated territory while living within commutable proximity to Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC.
- You possess a valid driver’s license and are willing to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check as part of the pre-employment process
