About the Organization
Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We’re looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets.
About the Role
Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who will serve as a recognized authority within the company. In this role, you will tackle unusually complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions that drive our deployment strategies forward. You will have the autonomy to determine and pursue the courses of action necessary to obtain desired results, ensuring our infrastructure and release processes are the most efficient, secure, and resilient in the industry. Your work will directly enable the continuous delivery of high-impact software to our government partners.
\nKey Responsibilities
Serve as a recognized authority for designing and building solutions to deploy applications in complex, customer-facing environments.
Automate the operational aspects of all solutions via code to ensure high scalability and minimal manual intervention.
Work on unusually complex technical problems, providing innovative solutions for internal development, testing, and release activities.
Drive practices and processes intended to speed up and automate the software development lifecycle, enabling seamless continuous delivery.
Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure required for sophisticated government missions.
Analyze stakeholder needs and effectively convey technical requirements to developers to ensure alignment with mission goals.
Continuously identify and implement ways to automate and improve release processes using state-of-the-art technologies.
Provide high-level code review and analysis of results to ensure the integrity of the codebase.
Ensure all systems are safe and secure against evolving cybersecurity threats by embedding security into every layer of the infrastructure.
Identify critical technical problems and develop advanced software updates and "fixes" for complex system architectures.
Manage large-scale infrastructure projects and processes from inception to completion.
Build and test sophisticated automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and maintenance.
Oversee and handle code deployments across all environments, maintaining configuration standards and system stability.
Monitor system metrics and develop data-driven strategies to improve operational efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on advanced development and operations practices.
Required Experience/Clearance
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 10+ years of experience OR a Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
Recognized expertise in DevOps engineering, specifically in designing and building automated deployment solutions.
Extensive experience with infrastructure as code, automated provisioning, and configuration management.
Proven ability to work with considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches.
Desired Experience
We encourage all candidates who meet the basic requirements to apply, even if you do not have any of the following experience:
Advanced proficiency with GitLab for CI/CD and Jira for project and stakeholder management.
Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or DataBricks) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
Experience leading DevOps transformation initiatives at an enterprise scale.
Familiarity with Spark or other large-scale data processing technologies.
Prior experience in a consulting or advisory role for high-level government or defense agencies.
