Mental Health Skill Building Specialist Position Summary:
The Mental Health Skill Building Specialist assists individuals with overcoming mental health barriers that may have interfered with the person’s ability to function independently and perform normative adult roles in the community. This includes acquiring, re-acquiring, retaining and improving various life skills such as effective communication and self-advocacy, self-help, self-care, socialization, mobility and use of community resources.
Mental Health Skill Building Specialist Job Responsibilities:
Mental Health Skill Building Specialist Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalent and at least one to three years of relevant experience working with individuals with Substance Use Disorders and/or Serious Mental Illness or a Bachelor’s degree. Strong organizational, engagement, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and with flexibility in days and hours of work. Demonstrates sound judgement and has the ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Valid NYS Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Pay Range: $50,000-$55,000
