Supervising Social Worker - San Mateo County Salary Range: $75,518 - $90,621 Annually

GGRC is looking for a Supervising Social Worker in our San Mateo office to provide supervision of assigned Social Workers and carry out administrative functions in relation to that supervisor and provide services to clients as assigned to Social Workers.

Where will I work?
This role offers a hybrid schedule giving you the opportunity to work in with clients in their homes in San Mateo County, from our San Mateo office and from the comfort of your own home.
What you’ll Do:
Supervise assigned staff by providing leadership and enabling staff to efficiently utilize time and resources
Participate in the hiring of staff and subsequent training and evaluation of assigned staff
Represent administration on internal and community committees and task forces as assigned
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
Provides coaching and monitoring of employee’s performance and conducts an annual performance evaluation for employees
Review and approve required and/or appropriate documentation to ensure compliance with established standards
Serve as a administrative and supervisory back up to the Manager Regional Center Services
Supervise/manage social workers involved with the initial and/or continuing social assessments of clients and in overall case planning
Prepare monthly statistics of intake and referrals
Review and process all documentation created by each staff member
Perform Supervisor of Day functions as required by Office
Serve as back up to Social Workers as needed
Participate in the Supervisory On-Call rotation on a voluntary basis
Participate in special projects, and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned
Maintain all client information as confidential in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Who you are:
Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or multi-lingual capacity
Demonstrated knowledge of agency policy and procedures
Training and facilitation
Interview techniques to ensure person centered planning
Strong managerial skills
Knowledge of principles, objectives and techniques of counseling individuals
Knowledge of normal and abnormal individual and group behavior, human growth and development of family relationships
Knowledge of community structure and organization and how to intervene constructively on client’s behalf
Ability to maintain case records in a clear and concise manner
Written communication: ability to develop standard business communications, using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
Oral communication: ability to convey complex information and ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner
Ability to operate basic office equipment
Basic familiarity with MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, MS Outlook® or similar software applications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related human services field required. A Master's degree is preferred.
Valid Clinical License at time of hire and ability to maintain license in good standing preferred
Travel:
Local travel within the County of San Mateo
Occasional statewide travel to sites throughout California
Access to reliable transportation permitting travel to and between many different locations throughout the day in order to perform the outlined responsibilities of the position

Golden Gate Regional Center is a state-funded nonprofit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties. We assist individuals and their families in securing services to enable them to lead more independent, productive and normal lives.
The regional center system was established in California through legislation supported primarily by Assembly member Frank D. Lanterman. Its origins, however, lay in the California State Legislature's authorization of pilot regional centers in the San Francisco Bay Area (what is now GGRC) and Los Angeles County (now Lanterman Regional Center). The purpose of these early regional centers, which began operating in 1966, was to assist persons with intellectual disabilities and their families in locating and developing services for their special needs.
Following the establishment of the pilot projects, which had promising early results, the Legislature passed the Lanterman Mental Retardation Services Act. Enacted in 1969, the legislation established a statewide system consisting of the two original regional centers plus five more, each serving a distinct geographical area. (Subsequent legislation has grown the number of regional centers to 21.)
A second Lanterman act, the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, was made law in 1974. It expanded the regional centers' service population to include persons with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and other disabling conditions found to be closely related to intellectual disability.
In 1993, the California Early Intervention Services Act expanded the regional centers' purview once more, this time to include early intervention ("Early Start") services for infants and toddlers (up to 36 months of age) who have a developmental delay or are at high risk of developing a delay.
In total, California's regional centers now serve over 300,000 people.
