Job Purpose
The Pediatric ABA Senior Behavior Analyst (BCBA) works with the Clinical Director and Director of Pediatric ABA Services to deliver high-quality ABA services by maintaining a clinical caseload, conducting assessments, developing skill acquisition programs, overseeing behavior support plans, providing caregiver training, and ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with policy and regulations. The Pediatric ABA Senior Behavior Analyst role supports organizational growth and clinical excellence through supervision of staff and interns, assisting in the onboarding and training of new Behavior Analysts, participation in hiring processes for Behavior Technicians, and leading departmental initiatives in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Director of Pediatric ABA Services. The Pediatric ABA Senior Behavior Analyst is required to adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Guidelines for Responsible Conduct for Behavior Analysts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains typical billable caseload or higher volume caseload as determined by department needs and documents billable hours according to VIA policy and state and federal regulation
Assists in onboarding and initial training of BCBAs to VIA’s Pediatric ABA Services as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Director
Assists in providing supervision and conducting performance checklists to BCBAs with less than two years experience or BCBAs with less than one year experience at VIA’s Pediatric ABA Services program as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Director
Assists with the hiring process for Behavior Technicians as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Director
Acts as Administrator on Call, as needed, when the Clinical Director and/or Director of Pediatric ABA Services is unavailable, providing administrative and clinical support, responding to urgent issues, and escalating matters to appropriate leadership as necessary
Leads department meetings as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Director
Supervises interns from strategic partnerships (e.g., universities, colleges, and training programs), providing guidance, feedback, and oversight to support professional development and ensure quality of services.
Administers, conducts, evaluates, and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures (e.g., VB-MAPP, Vineland) and functional assessment measures
Provides 1:1 behavior intervention services in the clinic for children with autism spectrum disorder and their families
Develops individualized goals and objectives for center-based programs and designs behavior support plans based on functional assessment data
Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives
Teaches behavior technicians on the proper implementation of educational and clinical behavior programs and plans, data collection systems and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems
Conducts regular caregiver and/or teacher training and consultation
Is responsible for ongoing individual program oversight and conducting weekly supervision meetings with behavior technicians
Meets regularly with Clinical Director and/or the Director of Pediatric ABA Services and notifies her/him immediately of issues impacting client’s progress and satisfaction
Completes all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Clinical Director and/or Director of Pediatric ABA Services
Develops written reports documenting behavioral recommendations for parents, caregivers and agency personnel in a timely and accurate manner
Additional Functions
Actively communicates VIA’s outreach efforts to community
Participates in professional meetings or conferences deemed to be beneficial to VIA’s development
Adheres to the mission, vision, and values of VIA
Position Type
This is a full-time position. This position involves working with clients who exhibit challenging and/or aggressive behavior and participation in community outings.
Requirements
Master’s in behavior analysis, BCBA Supervisory, Psychology, special education, social work, speech language pathology, or related field required
BCBA certification and/or licensed professional
Preferred three years’ experience as a BCBA serving individuals with ASD with a full range of skills and abilities
Strong knowledge and deep understanding of behavior analytic therapies; experience delivering these services
Experience with staff training and supervision
Must be proficient with DTT, ABA Program/Goal Development, ABA Behavior Reduction and Skills Acquisition Procedures, and Staff Training
Must have excellent writing and communication skills, be highly organized with the ability to multi-task
Must be able to work well as part of a team
