Position Summary
The Youth Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania programming at Arsenal School. This role is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where young people can learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships.
The Program Manager plans and delivers high-quality youth programming, supervises staff, builds relationships with students and families, and serves as a key connection between Arsenal School and the Estelle S. Campbell Clubhouse.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Programming & Operations
Plan, implement, and oversee engaging programs for youth in areas such as STEM, literacy, arts, recreation, leadership, and healthy lifestyles.
Create a positive, inclusive environment where youth feel safe, supported, and connected.
Manage daily schedules, activities, attendance, and program operations.
Support youth recruitment, enrollment, participation, and retention.
Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with BGCWPA policies and applicable licensing requirements.
Staff Leadership
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to program staff.
Assist with onboarding, training, scheduling, and staff development.
Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and positive youth development.
Family & Community Engagement
Build strong relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
Serve as a primary point of contact for Arsenal School regarding program operations.
Support family engagement activities, events, and special programs.
Connect youth and families to additional opportunities available through BGCWPA.
Clubhouse Collaboration
Work closely with the Estelle S. Campbell Clubhouse team to ensure consistency and alignment across programs.
Support Clubhouse programming, special events, and operations as needed.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organisational initiatives.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children and youth in educational, recreational, after-school, or community-based settings.
Can build positive relationships with young people, families, and community partners.
Demonstrates strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
Has experience leading programs or supervising staff (preferred).
Is comfortable using Google Workspace and maintaining program records.
Is able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Education & Experience
One of the following is preferred:
Associate degree or higher in Education, Human Services, Youth Development, or a related field.
Associate degree with relevant experience working with children and youth.
High school diploma/equivalent with at least two years of relevant youth-serving experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and actively participate in youth programming and activities.
