About the role
The Financial Counsellor provides inbound phone and online chat support through the National Debt Helpline on a rostered basis. You will deliverhigh‑qualityfinancial counselling, casework andadvocacyto people seeking immediate guidance orlonger‑termsupport.
This permanent full-time position is based in South Australia,within theMoneycareteam, reporting to the Team Leader. Pay isin accordance witha SCHADS Level 4–5, subject to accreditation.

Undertaking holistic assessments to understand each person’s circumstances,needsand goals

Supporting access to services and strengthening community connections
Maintainingaccuraterecords in SAMIS and meeting all reporting requirements
Identifyingrisks and service gaps and escalating appropriately
Participating in professional development and reflective practice
Contributing to financial capability education where appropriate
What you will bring
MinimumDiploma of Financial Counselling
Eligibility for SCHADS Level 4 (working toward accreditation) or Level 5 (accredited)
Experience in social services, communityengagementor financial hardship support
Understanding of the drivers of financial hardship and financial exclusion
Strong communicationskills across phone, onlinechatandface‑to‑facesettings
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
