General Description: Department
The Marketing Specialist plays a central role in executing strategic marketing and communications initiatives that increase Concilio’s visibility, engagement, and impact. Working closely with the Marketing Manager or Director of Marketing, this position supports content creation, campaign deployment, brand messaging, and digital engagement strategies. The Marketing Specialist helps translate organizational goals into compelling narratives, visuals, and outreach across print and digital platforms. This role bridges strategy and execution to ensure cohesive, mission aligned marketing that elevates Concilio’s presence with key audiences including community members, funders, and partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Content Development & Storytelling
• Write, edit, and produce high-quality content for social media, websites, newsletters, flyers, donor communications, and program collateral.
• Collaborate with departments to gather impactful stories, data, and visuals that communicate the value of Concilio’s work to the public and stakeholders.
• Ensure all content aligns with Concilio’s tone, voice, and visual identity.
- Campaign Planning & Execution
• Assist in the development and rollout of integrated marketing campaigns, including those for awareness months, fundraising drives, events, and program recruitment.
• Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and campaign tracking to ensure on-time execution.
• Support cross-departmental campaigns (e.g., development, policy, programming) with marketing materials and strategic input.
- Digital Marketing & Email Management
• Manage day-to-day scheduling and content for Concilio’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X).
• Design and distribute email marketing campaigns through platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
• Monitor trends and performance to optimize content and audience engagement across digital channels.
- Website & SEO Maintenance
• Regularly update the organizational website with new content, news, event listings, and program information.
• Collaborate on SEO optimization to improve visibility and search engine rankings.
• Monitor analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console) to report on site traffic, performance, and opportunities for growth.
- Visual & Graphic Design
• Design promotional materials (flyers, social graphics, infographics, one-pagers) using brand templates and tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Maintain an organized digital asset library and ensure all visual content aligns with brand guidelines.
- Analytics & Reporting
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics for campaigns, social media, and website traffic.
• Produce monthly marketing performance reports and share key insights and recommendations with the Marketing Manager.
• Use data to inform future campaigns and refine messaging.
- Event Marketing & Brand Presence
• Support the marketing and promotion of Concilio-led events, including creating materials, online registration, and day-of digital coverage.
• Help develop signage, event collateral, and branded materials that elevate brand visibility and reinforce community engagement.
• Occasionally attend outreach events to support marketing efforts and capture photos or content for future use.
• Collaborate with departments and community partners to ensure event details, promotional materials, and communication needs are organized and completed in a timely manner.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration
• Act as the primary marketing liaison to selected program teams, ensuring their events, services, and success stories are communicated externally.
• Coordinate with Development and programs to ensure messaging is aligned and cohesive.
• Support internal requests for flyers, signage, or outreach materials, managing production timelines and approvals.
QualificationsQualifications
Education & Experience Department
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
• Experience creating multi-channel marketing materials and campaigns.
Skills & Competencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone across diverse audiences.
• Strong graphic design skills (Canva required; Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Photoshop a plus).
• Familiarity with digital tools and platforms including: o Social Media Management (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite) o Email Marketing (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) o Website CMS (e.g., WordPress, Wix) o Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Ability to remain seated or use a computer for extended periods of time.
• Occasional travel to external events, community sites, or other office locations (10–20%). • Lifting of event materials (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
• Evening and weekend work may occasionally be necessary to support event coverage or urgent campaigns.
