Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Services or a related field, or at least three years of experience working with inner-city youth. Strong communication skills, a passion for youth development, and the ability to pass an extensive background check are required.

BUILD is a nationally respected gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organization based on Chicago’s West Side. The Mentor Specialist reports directly to the Manager of School-based Mentorship.
